Locks & Latches

Locks are fairly self explanatory. These are usually fitted into the edge of the door and the handles or knobs are then fitted through the lock to allow it to open. An extra hole is then put in the door to allow you to insert a key or Privacy Turn. Latches do exactly the same thing except they don’t provide the facility to lock the door. Therefore if you don’t want the door to be lockable then you would fit a Latch instead of a Lock
